The original version sounds a lot better! They should have kept it in the key that they started with. The whole vibe just sounds way better from the original version, especially with the organ in the mix.... The final version sounds forced and not as fun and expressive as the original.... Fab could have changed the structure around and did some drum replacing, that's all it needed really....

I just tried to download the Exercise file ( fab_dupont_mixing_a_neo-soul_song) and the first Zip gives me an error when unzipping. Why are there 2 files to download ? what´s the difference ? I am on macosx Catalina 10.15.5

Thanks Fab for a great video. I was hoping to see a little more of the fine tuning process to see different approaches to enhancing drum tones, vocal processing, etc., but it was good to see the EQ balancing to clean up the mix. I was disappointed with the guitar sample timing though. I didn't see the production video to know how that sample came about, but it was a little jarring. If the band played to it as a loop when tracking, it seems to me like it would've been distracting since it's groove was off from the band.
